EAA Chapter 216, based out of Williamstown, NJ is one of the Philadelphia area's oldest, most active, and most well-respected chapters. I am an active member of this chapter, taking responsibility as the newsletter editor and chapter photographer. Our chapter hosts a couple of fly-in pancake breakfasts, namely June's Doug McLeod Memorial Pancake Breakfast, and October's annual Fall Festival. We also host numerous Young Eagle rallies throughout the year, and this happened to be the first one in a couple of years.
In case you don't know, a Young Eagles rally is when a few pilots from an EAA chapter unite, and fly kids of ages 8-17 for free. It is a great way to get youth in aviation, and is commended by airlines who have pilots retiring at astronomical rates. Kids could also get what it feels like to spend a day at the airport, in hopes of infecting them with one of the world's only great viruses, The Aviation Bug!
